About Psychotherapie.com
The Founder — Dietmar Luchmann, Psychotherapist
Dietmar Luchmann graduated from the Humboldt University of Berlin in 1983 as a Diplom-Psychologe, the German master’s-level degree in psychology, with the distinction “excellent” and holds state licensure as a psychotherapist for the independent practice of psychotherapy. He has worked as a psychotherapist for more than 40 years, specializing in anxiety disorders and giftedness, and contributes to the journal as an author. His profile describes his education, qualifications, and career.
The Medium — Psychotherapie, ISSN 1616-3753
Psychotherapie.com was founded in 1996 and published by Dietmar Luchmann until 2002. Since 2002, the journal has been published by Dr. Dietmar Luchmann, LLC. It reports on mental health and effective psychotherapeutic methods and shows what psychotherapists, psychiatrists, and the media often overlook: successful psychotherapy rests on working on one’s own thinking and on taking responsibility for oneself — on self-therapy as the “achievement of the thinking individual, rendered unto oneself” (cf. “Switzerland: Paradise of Psychotherapeutic Inefficiency”).
The Information — Editorial Content and Offer
Articles by psychotherapists who also practice psychotherapy for the publisher reflect the professional views of their authors; they are not advertising. Advertising for the publisher’s own psychotherapy services is labeled “Publisher’s Offer.” The journal is published, and the psychotherapy provided, solely by Dr. Dietmar Luchmann, LLC.
Self-Therapy — Cognitive Psychotherapy
Dr. Dietmar Luchmann, LLC offers cognitive psychotherapy as assistance for self-help. The psychotherapist points out the thinking errors that produce the suffering and shows how to correct them; the patient has to make the corrections himself. The goal is self-healing: the patient becomes his own psychotherapist. There are three paths to choose from:
- Video-Supported Cognitive Psychotherapy (VCP), the standard path: sessions via video, with a written summary after each session.
- Written Cognitive Psychotherapy (WCP), since 2020: the entire psychotherapy in writing, independent of place and time.
- Day-Block Cognitive Psychotherapy (DCP), for the highly motivated: a single day of personal conversation.
The written communication is end-to-end encrypted (AES-256); the video sessions are not recorded and, in a one-on-one session, run directly from device to device.
